Birth to Three Banner

ARC-CSS's Early Intervention Program is a non-profit, specialized program for children with delays and disabilities or at high risk of delays, from birth to three years of age, and their families.

The Purpose of Early Intervention (Birth to Three) Services are to help each child develop to his or her fullest potential in the following areas:
• self-help skills
• fine and gross motor development
• communication skills
• socialization
• emotional development
• learning & thinking

The Program Goals are . . .
. . . to help family members understand the special needs of their child; learn effective child development and behavior management skills; and access the support which families think they need.

. . . to form partnerships with parents or caregivers in planning services and making decisions that will lead to the best outcomes for the whole family.

. . . to assure that children lead inclusive, participating, and productive lives within their families and community.

Services are Offered to Children who . . .
. . . are from birth to three years of age
. . . are premature, high risk, or meet the criteria for delays in one or more areas of development.

Services are provided without restrictions as to race, creed, religion, sex, or economic status.

Services Include:
• developmental instruction
• play groups

• home visits
• developmental assessments
• individual family support planning and implementation
• help with child development and behavior management problems
• hearing screenings
• referrals to other agencies for specialized services
• community wide screenings
• parent training/education
• resource library and toy lending program
• parent exchange groups
• transition and follow up

Services are offered on a 12 month, year around basis.

The Early Intervention Services are programs of ARC Community Support Systems and are funded by local county taxes, state Department of Human Services, contributions, special funds, from civic and fraternal organizations, and family fees.
