Geri graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education.
Geri's first experience with ARC/CSS was through the summer day camp program. She worked with the program as a counselor for two summers and as the Camp Director for one summer. Following graduation from EIU, Geri worked as a teacher, first in an elementary classroom and then in a junior high cross-categorical classroom. During this time, she also worked part-time with ARC/CSS as a respite provider and as a home interventionist, providing support and training for a young consumer and her family. In 1985, Geri returned to ARC/CSS and began working full-time in the residential program. Geri has worked with the group homes as a Program Specialist, House Manager, and currently serves as the Residential Coordinator.
As Residential Coordinator, Geri is responsible for the day-to-day administration of ARC/CSS' group homes and assures that the homes operate in compliance to licensure standards. She assists in hiring staff, provides initial and ongoing training, and assures that adequate staffing patterns are maintained. Geri also provides crisis coverage on a rotating basis.
