Looking after the long-term needs of ARC Community Support Systems and Effingham County residents with disabilities is the purpose of the ARC-CSS Foundation founded in 1995. ARC Community Support Systems Foundation, Inc. was founded due to concerns with the uncertainty of government funding and wanting to provide a more stable, long-term financial position to assist Effingham County's citizens with disabilities.
The Foundation is chartered as a Not-For-Profit Corporation and their principal office, located at 618 West Main in Teutopolis, IL, is authorized to receive contributions.
Volunteer trustees of the Foundation include: President, Gerald Jansen; Secretary, Deb Parmenter; Treasurer, Rick Chambers; Trustees, Kent Schmidt, Greg Bean, Kathy Hartke and Randy Jones.
How Can You Contribute?
All contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Following are various types of gifts that you may consider. Please contact your tax advisor to determine which might be the best for you.
Cash
Gifts of $25, $50, or $100 go a long way in helping.
Securities
Stocks or other investments that have grown in value and that you have held for more than one year can become a substantial gift made at a low net cost to you. Also, if you own securities worth less now than when you purchased them and contribute the proceeds to us, then you can take a capital loss on your tax return - a tax break that is not available to us should you give us the security directly.
Life Insurance
An older, no-longer-needed, life insurance policy can be a valuable gift made at a small cost to you. Policies that still require premiums to be paid can be given while you continue to pay the premiums, prompting income tax deductions when the ARC-CSS Foundation is named both owner and beneficiary. A new policy on your life naming us as beneficiary guarantees us a future gift.
Real Estate
Make a gift of a home, plots or farmland.
Personal Property
Donate articles of value, such as jewelry, gold coins, artwork or antiques.
Commodities
Contributing raised cash crops can result in greater tax savings for cash-based farmers.
Planned Gifts
Gifts may be made through bequests and living trusts, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable gift annuities.
